(HIP204) A Negro spiritual first published in New Jubilee Songs as Sung by the Fisk Jubilee Singers (1901) by John Wesley Work II and his brother, Frederick J. Work (see Fisk Jubilee Singers). This jazzy, bib-bang version was produced by Babbie Mason and features background vocals, lots of brass and three key-changes. This is one of my square dance anthems and takes a lot of breath. Dancers will love this.
